PLAYING AROUND
PANDEMIC SKETCHES FROM THE GARAGE
GARAGE PAINTINGS - Summer / Fall 2020
I'm a big proponent of enjoying my time with my paint or whatever medium I'm involved with. The result of which shows that the real subject running through the work is playfulness founded in the magic and mystery of the poetic experience. I love to push paint around...to scrape and scratch. I'm not really interested in any kind of morality in painting or teaching anyone anything. If someone sees commentary in my work it is their own interpretation. What I do is for myself....much about my state of mind. Totally lucid but non-rational.
These are my pandemic paintings done on both archival paper or canvas, synthetic polymer pigment signed, titled and dated.
MORE ABSTRACT WORK
BATHING BEAUTIES
Lightheartedly cubist and mid century in nature, the classical poses are borrowed from works of great masters. These portraits of reclining women are synthetic polymer on archival paper. Large scale (all about 30"x40") shapely models lie in repose, executed naively with body lines and contours defined by vibrant colors that breath life into these paintings.
Titled and signed.
